Shelter Box’s mission is to deliver humanitarian relief in the form of equipment and materials that bring shelter, warmth and dignity to people made homeless by natural or other disasters worldwide. Shelter Box’s vision is of a world in which all people displaced by disasters and humanitarian crises are rapidly provided with emergency shelter and vital aid, which will help rebuild their communities and lives. Since ShelterBox was founded, they have responded to over 270 disasters and humanitarian crises in more than 95 geographic locations and provided emergency aid for well over one million people.
Why we contribute:
Living in Miami, we are constantly under threat of a natural disaster. Having been through a few hurricanes, we understand the devastating impact a natural disaster can have on you and your community. We are way more fortunate compared to most other places around the world with our ability, timeliness and resources to rebuild.
Having empathy for those victims and wanting to make a difference, Steven became a ShelterBox response team member (SRT) in 2009. As an SRT, Steven helps to get the aid directly to the people who need it most. He has been deployed 16 times to different parts of the world such Haiti, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Peru, Fiji, Malawi, and the Philippines to help provide life saving aid to victims of different disasters. Steven is a member of the board of directors of ShelterBox USA.

Why we contribute:
Whenever there is a disaster the Red Cross is there to provide relief to those impacted. Having lived through Hurricane Andrew we have experienced Miami biggest disaster so far. The Red Cross is 24/7 to help the community. We are one of the sponsors for the Spectrum Awards for Women.
